It's almost the end of the year!
Since this is the last newsletter of 2010, it's appropriate that one of our topics concerns the ending of something else: the life of a hard drive.
Although we're very keen on reuse and our efforts to re-purpose hard drives whenever possible, we know this doesn't always meet our clients' needs. We ensure absolute data destruction on every drive that we process, but we understand that some of our clients have requirements to meet data security standards specific to their business or industry.
If you are interested in being able to visually confirm destruction of a hard drive before it leaves your office or facility, please read on below!

Free Electronics Recycling Event
Our last holiday e-waste recycling event of the year is coming up on December 17th! We'll be accepting the following items for no charge* on that day from 9:00 AM until 6:00 PM:
- CRT and LCD Monitors
- TVs - CRT, LCD, and plasma
- Computers & Servers
- Laptops
- All Printers, Fax Machines, and Scanners
- Audiovisual Equipment (DVD players / VHS / Stereos)
- Media such as VHS, Cassette, DVDs, and CDs
- Keyboards and Mice
- Small parts, peripherals, cables, etc.
So make space for Santa's delivery by bringing down your unwanted electronics! If you can't haul down your electronics yourself, inquire about our pickup services.

Onsite Hard Drive Destruction

Perhaps you are using a degaussing process - which can be unreliable - or have a rudimentary form of destruction at your facility. If you require onsite hard drive destruction and don't have the resources, or are unhappy with your current process, we may have the answer for you!
We would like to introduce our latest service: onsite destruction using our mobile hard drive crusher. It employs 12,000 lbs. of force to render the drive unreadable through destruction of the platter, head and control board. It can make unreadable any drive size - from 0.65" to 1.65" - and any format or type, including laptop drives. |

E-Cycle WA Program Continues UpsurgeFor the second month in a row, the E-Cycle Washington program collected more TVs, computers, and monitors than the same month in 2009. This past month racked up 3,073,561 lbs of material collected to November 09's 2,918,356 lbs. It seems the volume of old equipment that consumers are recycling is not looking to ebb, despite the fact that two years have passed since the program was put into place.

Recycling Wine Bottle Corks for the Holidays
