We can ensure absolute elimination of confidential information on your hard drives via a software or physical destruction method. Our binary wipe process utilizes the US Department of Defense approved standard 5220.22-M method, overwriting all addressable storage and indexing locations on the drive three times: with zeros (0x00), complement (0xFF) and random characters; and then verifies all writing procedures.
Using a 'soft' destruction method is just as secure as physical destruction, but allows a drive to be considered for reuse, providing more long-term environmental benefit.
Our physical destruction process entails crushing the hard drive with a conical punch employing 12,000 lbs of force! We can perform this service both at our facility and onsite at your location. There is a $150 setup fee for onsite hard drive destruction.
With both methods, we can also provide a complete log of the assets and hard drives processed indentifying them by asset tag, make, model and serial number. We charge $5 each to inventory assets and/or hard drives, and $3 each for certified hard drive destruction. Quantities discounts are available. There is no additional fee for a certificate of destruction.
Other Media
Optical and magentic media is collected and sent to a downstream processor for secure sorting, shredding and reclamation of the plastic and magnetic materials. In addition, tape media can be degaussed inhouse for a fee.
Cell phones are handled by a partner facility where confidential information is guaranteed to be removed before parts or whole units are considered for reuse.
